南韓保健福祉部10日通報，中東呼吸症候群冠狀病毒感染症（MERS-CoV)確診病例新增13例，感染者累計108人，且新增2人病故，死亡人數增至9人。MERS疫情升高，南韓總統朴槿惠決定推遲原定14至18日訪問美國的行程，親自坐鎮監督防疫。
南韓官方「聯合通訊社」報導，新增13名MERS確診患者中，有10人在首爾市三星首爾醫院遭感染。大田建陽大學醫院、大田大清醫院與翰林大學東灘醫院則分別新增1例確診患者。在醫院外受到感染的病例尚未出現。
在三星首爾醫院住院的一名40多歲孕婦MERS首次檢測結果呈陽性，複檢結果呈陰性，目前正在進行第3次檢測。
新增的死亡病例分別是一名62歲男性和一名75歲女性。前者生前患有酒精性肝硬化和肝癌，後者患有多發性骨髓腫瘤（血癌的一種）。兩人都是5月27日在三星首爾醫院急診室接受治療時，被第14例確診患者傳染。
南韓當局表示，截至10日上午，MERS隔離對象增至3439人，有641人解除隔離，確診患者中11人病情不穩，痊癒出院的患者則增至4人。
朴槿惠原本預定14日啟程赴美，16日與美國總統歐巴馬會談。青瓦台公報首席祕書金聲宇表示，由於國民對MERS疫情惶恐不安，朴槿惠總統以國民安全為最優先考量，決定延後訪美。
金聲宇表示，青瓦台已事先徵得美方諒解，並同意於日後韓美都認為方便的時機，盡早往訪。專家表示，未來幾天將是檢視南韓政府防疫是否成功的關鍵。
中國大陸媒體引據南韓《亞細亞經濟報》報導，居住南韓首爾市衿川區的一名中國籍女子8日確診為MERS患者，她是醫院的護理人員，曾與該院一名MERS患者有過接觸。
赴南韓考察MERS疫情的世界衛生組織（WHO）小組表示，學校並非南韓MERS蔓延的主要傳染場所，南韓政府應認真考慮重新開放學校，恢復上課。
